What is Plantar Fasciitis Surgery?
Plantar fasciitis surgery is considered after 6–12 months of unsuccessful nonoperative treatment. Techniques include:
- Partial plantar fasciotomy: Releasing a portion of the fascia to reduce tension.
- Gastrocnemius recession: Lengthening tight calf muscle to decrease stress on the heel.
- Endoscopic release in select cases.
Typically performed as an outpatient under regional or general anesthesia.
